Dexrabeprazole Sodium

Peptic ulcer, Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Oral Adult 10 mg once daily in the morning for 4 to 8 weeks depending upon response of patient. Maintenance of healing of GERD may suffice with a lower dose of 5 mg once daily.

Dexrabeprazole sodium tablets should not be chewed or crushed, but should be swallowed whole.

Hypersensitivity to dexrabeprazole

General: Symptomatic response to therapy does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy. Pregnancy, lactation

No clinically significant interactions with drugs metabolized by the CYP450 system. An interaction with compounds (e.g. Ketoconazole) which are dependent on gastric pH for absorption may occur due to the magnitude of acid suppression.

Headache, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, asthenia, flatulence, rash & dry mouth.

Dexrabeprazole is the chirally pure R (+) enantiomer of racemate Rabeprazole. Dexrabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor.
