Indications
Motion Sickness, Nausea and vomiting
Adult Dose
Oral
Motion Sickness, Nausea and vomiting
Adult: As hydrochloride: 50 mg up to tid, up to 200 mg/day.
For prevention of motion sickness, 1st dose should be given 30 min before traveling. May repeat in 4-6 hours if needed.
Child Dose
Oral

Child: 6-12 yr: As hydrochloride: 25 mg up to tid. Not to exceed 75 mg/day.
For prevention of motion sickness, 1st dose should be given 30 min before traveling.
>12 years: 50 mg PO taken 30 minutes before departure, may repeat in 4-6 hr if needed, up to 200 mg/day
Hepatic Dose
HEPATIC IMPAIRMENT
Advises caution.
Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity
Do not use in patients with asthma, glaucoma, emphysema, chronic pulmonary disease, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland unless directed by a doctor
Cyclizine should not be used concurrently with sedatives, tranquilizers, or anticholinergic medications
Precautions
Angle-closure glaucoma; urinary retention; prostatic hypertrophy; pyloroduodenal obstruction; epilepsy, severe CV disorders; known or suspected QT interval prolongation; hypokalaemia or other electrolyte imbalances; asthma; hepatic impairment.
May have hypotensive effects, which may be confusing or dangerous in postoperative patients.
May produce drowsiness; caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness.

Interactions
Enhanced sedative effects of alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, opioid analgesics, anxiolytic sedatives, antipsychotics.
Additive antimuscarinic actions with other antimuscarinic drugs and some antidepressants (TCAs and MAOIs).
May mask ototoxicity symptoms caused by aminoglycoside antibiotics.
