Indications
For relief of non productive (dry) coughs, irritating cough, sore throat
Adult Dose
Oral
Adult: 4 teaspoonful (20 ml) 4 times daily
Child Dose
Children :
1 to 5 years= 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) 4 times daily,
6 to 12 years= 2 teaspoonful (10 ml) 4 times daily
Contra Indications
Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Precautions
Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
Pregnancy-Lactation

There are no or limited amount of data from the use of Citric Acid Monohydrate in Pregnant women. There is insufficient information on the excretion of Citric Acid Monohydrate and its metabolites in human milk.
Adverse Effects
There are no known side effects from using this medicine when used as directed.
If taken excessively, the medicine may cause nausea, vomiting, headache, and diarrhoea.
Mechanism of Action
Citric acid is absorbed after oral administration. It is found naturally in the body and is widely distributed. It is metabolised to carbon dioxide and water in Kreb's citric acid cycle.Forms soothing layer over mucous membrane on the throat, relieves inflammation and pain
