Open-angle glaucoma, Ocular HTN

Ophthalmic Ocular hypertension; Open-angle glaucoma Adult: As 0.25% drops: Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) bid. As 0.5% drops: Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) once daily, may increase to 1 drop bid.

Bronchial asthma, severe COPD; sinus bradycardia; 2nd and 3rd degree heart block; overt cardiac failure; cardiogenic shock.

Patients at risk of developing hypoglycaemia. DM. Thyrotoxicosis. Known diminished pulmonary function. Cerebrovascular insufficiency. Do not drive or operate machinery until vision is clear. Pregnancy and lactation. Lactation: Not known if distributed into milk, use caution

Not Classi Pregnancy There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women; ophthalmic solution should be used during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus Lactation It is not known whether drug is excreted in human milk; systemic beta-blockers and topical timolol maleate are known to be excreted in human milk; exercise caution when administered to a nursing woman

Additive hypotensive effect w/ catecholamine-depleting drug (e.g. reserpine), Ca channel blockers, beta-adrenergic blockers, digitalis glycosides, antiarrhythmics, guanethidine, parasympathomimetics. Mydriasis may occur when used w/ epinephrine.

Ocular stinging, burning, blepharoconjunctivitis, blepharitis, decreased visual acuity, band keratopathy, erythema, iridocyclitis, conjunctivitis and itching sensation; bradycardia, CVA, syncope, arrhythmia, heart block, hypotension, cerebral ischeamia, bronchospasm. Rarely, reduced corneal sensitivity and tearing.

Levobunolol is a nonselective beta-adrenergic blocking agent. It causes the reduction of intraocular pressure by decreasing the production of aqueous humour.

Betagan 0.5% Ophthalmic Solution manufactured by Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd.. Its generic name is Levobunolol Hydrochloride.
