Mechanism of Action

Devil’s Claw contains iridoid monoterpenes such as harpagoside, harpazide, procumbide; Phenyl ethanol such as acetoside, isoacetoside; The oligosaccharide starchose and several harpagoquinones are found. Harpagozide: It inhibits key inflammatory mediators such as Cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX2) and nitric oxide synthase, reducing the production of prostaglandins & nitric oxide, both of which are involved in pain & inflammation pathways. It blocks the NF-?B signaling pathway, which is crucial in regulating the expression of various pro-inflammatory cytokines. This leads to reduced inflammation & in turn, pain relief. It can reduce pain & improve mobility in patients with low back pain & osteoarthritis. Harpazide & Procumbide: Provides analgesic anti-inflammatory effects. Aromatic acids: Reduce acute and neuropathic pain.
